Biodiversity

Species Identification and Counting (graph activity):

Jake's project is identifying and photgraphing as many different species of fish as he can find. He expects to have 150-200 different species documented by the end of this trip. Check back here as we develop a graphing activity to follow Jake's progress!

Communication!

We've provided three ways for you to communicate with the researchers. Do you have any questions you'd like to ask? This is your chance. Links to all three methods are found at the bottom of every page.

  • Chat!

We suggest your students come up with three or four questions they want to ask ahead of the scheduled chat time. Check the Belize start page ticker tape for the next time chat is scheduled. We will try to have both an early afternoon time for classes to participate, and an evening time as well.

  • Message Board

If your schedule doesn't allow joining us for live chat, you may post messages on the Message Board from here or anywhere you see: Here you can read posts from others, as well as start your own conversation on a topic that you are curious about that hasn't been discussed.

  • Email the Researchers!

Email them anywhere you see this link, or link to individual email addresses for each researcher on their topic pages.

  • Fish Adaptation

Design one fish adapted for a coral reef and another fish adapted for a cold marine environments in this activity:
